Hormuzd Katrak is the Principal Architect and Founder of Studio Homzstead, a Mumbai-based architecture and interior design practice. He graduated from the NMIMS Balwant Sheth School of Architecture in 2021, following which he worked with an award-winning architecture and interior design firm in Mumbai. During his three years there, he refined his design sensibility and gained valuable hands-on industry experience.
In late 2023, he founded Studio Homzstead with the intent of creating a more cohesive and thoughtful approach to architecture and interiors, one that seamlessly integrates spatial planning, materiality and lived experiences into a unified design language.
Studio Homzstead is a boutique design studio specializing in interior architecture across residential, commercial and hospitality projects. The studio has developed a growing body of work defined by its calm, contemporary aesthetic and its emphasis on material richness, spatial clarity and detail-driven execution.
The practice is rooted in a deep understanding of spatial planning and how people interact with their environments. Each project is approached as a response to the client’s lifestyle and context, resulting in spaces that feel intuitive, personal and enduring.
Defined by restrained palettes and natural materials, the studio’s work brings together texture, light and form to create environments that are both warm and refined. Custom elements and carefully integrated details ensure a cohesive and considered outcome across every project.
Today, Studio Homzstead continues to work across Mumbai and beyond, collaborating closely with clients to create spaces that are not only visually compelling but also deeply lived-in and meaningful.

Studio Homzstead was honoured at the National Architecture & Interior Design Excellence Awards 2025 (Global Edition) with the title of “Creative & Trusted Architecture & Interior Design Firm of the Year 2025 – Maharashtra” under the Residential & Commercial Projects category.
